Green New Deal

The DeKalb County Planning and Sustainability Department and Commissioner Ted Terry will host the DeKalb Green New Deal Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 178 Sams Street in Decatur.

The event website says it will “explore how thoughtful planning can address key issues like housing, climate, energy, and transportation.” Food trucks, workshops, and project showcases will also be on the schedule.

“On World Planning Day, planners and communities worldwide come together to celebrate how good planning improves people’s lives and benefits society at large, creating places to live, work, and play together,” the website says.
