Social Media Manager– Access Atlanta (AJC)
The Social Media Manager is responsible for daily programming across Access Atlanta’s social handles, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The ideal candidate will be a creative and collaborative champion of the team’s content and should have a proven ability to build connections with the brand’s social media audience.
This person will also be responsible for setting growth strategies, employing organic and paid tactics to increase followers, and for implementing paid media campaigns to support our branded partner content.
Additional, specific duties will include:
Creating original posts for Access Atlanta social handles
Coaching team members to create more successful content
Working to increase audience engagement
Responding to audience feedback, questions, comments, etc.
Managing relationships will potential collaborators/influencers
Providing weekly & monthly social media metrics reporting for the team’s leadership
Other duties as assigned
Candidates must have previous experience managing social media accounts, as well as experience executing paid promotion via Meta Business Manager and TikTok Ad Manager.
Education and Years of Experience:
A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred along with 2+ years of relevant experience, but candidates with sufficient professional experience may be considered as well. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or without a degree 6+ years’ experience in a related field.
In addition, experience in some of the following is expected:
Experience with platforms to drive reader engagement and build brand
Experience with social optimization in a news environment and an awareness of SEO
Experience in journalism and strong news judgement
Social, interactive, or digital media
Knowledge on the most recent trends in digital media
Other capabilities and traits should include:
An ability to take constructive criticism
Passion and belief in local, regional and statewide journalism and its role as a societal change agent
Familiarity and experience in using audience metrics
Understanding of journalism standards and media ethics preferred
Reliable automobile transportation required.
Reliable internet service for remote work environment required.
Ability to work weekend and unusual hours as dictated by news events
While this position allows hybrid work, it will be based in metro Atlanta and the producer will be expected to be onsite in our Atlanta office on a regular basis.
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $58,400.00 - $87,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
