Leading the team

We have a dedicated parks team and a strong leader in Rachel Waldron, Dunwoody’s new director of Parks & Rec, who has hit the ground running. We cast a wide net for this position in late 2023 and interviewed several strong outside candidates, but we were thrilled to have an internal candidate with great ideas, strong leadership skills, and an established commitment to the Dunwoody community. Since joining Dunwoody in December 2014, Rachel has been the driving force behind the department’s marketing efforts, public art opportunities, and increasing social media presence. She also started popular events, including the Groovin’ on the Green concert series and Kids to Parks Day, both of which are on the schedule for summer 2024.
