Spruill Center for the Arts Launches Free Art Closet to Support Local Creativity

November 13, 2023 – DUNWOODY, GEORGIA.    Spruill Center for the Arts is delighted to introduce the Spruill Free Art Closet, a new initiative to nurture local artists and enhance creative expression by providing free art supplies to our community. The Free Art Closet will be available beginning November 14 and has been made possible through a grant from the City of Dunwoody.

Opening its doors Monday to Friday, 11 am-5 pm, the Free Art Closet is designed to be a helpful resource for those seeking art supplies. Interested individuals can drop by the Registration Office at the Education Center for assistance, where a Spruill staff member will assist them in accessing the available materials. To ensure fair access, there's a suggested limit of two items per visit.

"We’re excited to partner with Spruill on this innovative project," says Lynn Deutsch, Mayor for the City of Dunwoody. "Providing art materials and inspiration to anyone in the community seeking a creative outlet falls hand-in-hand with our ongoing efforts to integrate the arts into the fabric of our community."

The Free Art Closet offers a variety of materials, including sketchbooks, drawing paper, watercolor paper, paints, brushes, markers, pencils, colored pencils, charcoal and erasers.

Spruill Center for the Arts looks forward to the positive impact the Free Art Closet will have on local artists and invites the community to take advantage of this valuable resource. Spruill Center for the Arts is located at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338.
